The healthcare professionals at VPI’s Imaging Center at Innsbrook offer professional, compassionate health care to our patients. We are proud to offer cutting edge technology services involving MRI and CT scanning as well as Diagnostic X-Ray services. Our Women’s Suite has been carefully designed so that our female patients have direct access to our Digital Mammography, Ultrasound Imaging and Bone Density room from the changing area. Our equipment and services have been designed with a focus on accuracy and the customer experience.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides an unparalleled view inside the human body without the need for surgery. Our MRI room is designed with exterior windows to enhance your environment. Interactions with the MRI technologist will be maintained throughout your test.
A Computed Axial Tomography (CT or CAT) scan is a noninvasive, painless medical test that helps the physicians at Virginia Physicians Imaging Center to diagnose and treat medical conditions. CT imaging uses special x-ray equipment to produce multiple pictures of the inside of the body and a computer to join them together in cross-sectional views of the area being studied. Using specialized equipment and expertise to create and interpret CT scans of the body, radiologists can more easily diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.
Women’s Suite
Our Imaging Center at Innsbrook strives to provide a comfortable and peaceful setting to our female clients. We value our clients therefore we have designed our facility to honor women’s privacy during various testing and exams. From the women’s changing area there is direct access to mammography, ultrasound and the bone density rooms. This provides a quite private setting for your visit.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound images are captured in real-time therefore your physicians will have immediate access to the images. Ultrasound imaging is a medical test that helps our physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Bone Density
A bone mineral density ( BMD) test is used to measure bone density and determine fracture risk for osteoporosis. It may also be used to determine how effective an osteoporosis treatment is. A bone density test uses special X-rays to measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone. The higher your mineral content, the denser your bones are and generally the stronger they are.
Digital Mammography
Digital Mammography uses x-rays to produce detailed images of the breast. With digital mammography, the magnification, orientation, brightness and contrast of your images may be altered after the exam is completed to help the radiologist more clearly see certain areas and often reduce the need for additional images.
Diagnostic X-Ray
Diagnostic X-ray is helpful in allowing your physician to see the boney structures inside your body and achieve a better understanding of the health of your bones. |
