Dr. Tiffany Orndorff joined our practice
in 2002. She is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Orndorff completed her
residency and internship in Family Practice at the affiliate hospital,
Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden, NJ. For the past 2 years, she has practiced
in Cape May, NJ and is now moving to Powhatan to re-join her family.
Dr. Orndorff is trained as an osteopathic physician, which is a 110 year
old School of Medicine first founded in the 1880’s by Andrew Taylor
Still. Still was a traditionally trained physician who set out to improve
medical care of the time by placing emphasis on preserving health rather
than merely treating disease. This reform movement lead to the development
of techniques of manual medicine known as OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative
Techniques). Today all barriers between M.D.’s and D.O.’s
are gone and students of both schools take the same licensing exams and
serve side by side in all fields of medicine.
