Dr. Maestrello is a board-certified
Rheumatologist. He completed his medical school training at the Medical
College of Virginia in 1990. He completed his internship and residency
training at the University of Connecticut. In 1995 completed his Rheumatology
fellowship at the University of Connecticut. In that same year, he began
practicing Rheumatology in Richmond.
In addition to his private
practice, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Virginia Commonwealth
University/MCV campus. He is also on the advisory board for the Lupus
Foundation, Virginia Chapter as well as being active with the Arthritis
Foundation. He is a member of the Virginia Society of Rheumatologists,
having been the vice-president for the organization in 2003-2004 and
the president in 2004-2005. His particular interests include rheumatoid
arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis.
He was born in Bellevue, Washington and is married with three children.
