Shawna graduated with a Degree in Biology from East Carolina University in 1995. After graduating, she worked with our organization as a Clinical Research Coordinator. It was at this time that she decided she wanted to go back to school to obtain her nursing degree. In 2005 she graduated from VCU with a Masters degree in nursing.

While in nursing school she worked on an Oncology/Medical/Surgical unit at MCV and then upon graduation worked as a Lung Cancer Coordinator with Henrico Doctor’s Hospital.

Shawna is excited to return to VPI in our Rheumatology Division. Shawna enjoys spending time with her husband and children (Tyler 3, Lindsay 1). She enjoys the outdoors, swimming, skiing and relaxing on the beach.
