Laboratory Services

Laboratory ServicesThe Virginia Physicians, Inc. Laboratory is a full service lab that provides automated comprehensive testing for all of the Virginia Physician divisions. This includes hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistries, immunochemistry and manual serology and immunology. The lab is fully accredited by CLIA and uses the most advanced technology in laboratory instrumentation. LABORATORY TEST RESULTS:

 

All patient test results will be handled with confidentiality.  Test results will be sent to the patient’s electronic medical record via the laboratory information system.  Physicians outside of the Virginia Physicians, Inc. organization will receive results via their fax.  

 

 

ADVANCE BENEFICIARY NOTICES:

 

An Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) is a written notice which a physician or supplier give to a Medicare beneficiary. The purpose of the ABN is to inform a beneficiary before he or she receive specified items or services that other wise might be paid for by Medicare that Medicare probably will not pay for them for that particular beneficiary on that particular occasion. The ABN allows the beneficiary to make an informed consumer decision whether or not to receive the items or services for which he or she may have to pay out of pocket or through other insurance.
